Vem conferir o significado de cada uma dessas versões, e declare seu amor de forma correta em EspPuedes decirle "te amo" a tu pareja (novio/a, marido, mujer, etc) o a los familiares por los que sientes un gran afecto (madre, padre, etc) Puedes decir "te quiero" a aquellos por los que sientes afecto (madre, hermanos, amigos, etc) Lo importante es que sepas que "te amo" tiene un significado más íntimo y fuerte que "te quiero"... No le dices "te amo" a cualquiera
"Te quiero" is perfectly acceptable for friends and family. A mother that tells her child "te quiero" is definitely telling the child "I love you", but it's a bit different than when I might say "te queremos" to our very good friends (we love you), it carries more of a "you are very valuable/important in our lives and we appreciate you very much" kind of thing.

I know that we learn te amo, however I work with quite a few Spanish speakers and they have told me that te amo is very rarely used and that te quiero is proper. I know it is minor, but just curious. [/quo] My Puerto Rican girlfriend says "te quiero" to me. In her culture this is used for a more amorous, or romantic, love. She says "te amo" to her children. It is the same with the Cubans I know here in Florida. GregAs is so often the case in Spanish, usage varies from one region to another. Now "Te quiero" is used more regularly to define that you "love" someone but this is not as deep as "Te amo"...at least that is what happens in Mexico, but ill bet it changes from a region to another...
